Music is a subject that can enrich students’ lives and education.Musical training helps develop the areas of brain related to language and reasoning. Studies have proved that the left side of the brain is developed with music and songs and can help imprint information on young minds. Music helps in the mastery of memorization. Students constantly use their memory to perform. So, the skill of memorization serves students well both in education and beyond. While practicing with musical instruments students can improve their hand-eye coordination.Music is the fabric of our society, and can shape abilities andcharacter. Musical education greatly contributes to children’s intellectual development as well. Music keeps the children engaged and interested while developing their maths and pattern recognition skills. Last but not the least, students can fight stress while learning to play music.

Undoubtedly, art is fun for kids. Diving into those finger paints and making a beautiful picture to hang up into their own room is awesome.Art allows children to express themselves. While mastering a subject certainly builds student confidence, there is something special about participating in the arts. Getting up on stage, participating and getting awards for their self-confidence enthuses children like few other things do. Drawing, painting and sculpting help develop visual spatial skill. Art education teaches how to interpret, criticise and use visual information, and how to make choices based on it when children strive to draw or paint on paper a particular picture which is in their minds, so the continuous hard work and their perseverance pays off.Studies show that there is a correlation between art and other achievement. Research shows that young people who participate regularly in arts are fourtimes more likely to be recognized for academic achievement, to participate in maths and science fairs or to win an award for writing an essay or poem than children who do not participate

Theatre is a cultural space where society examines itself in a mirror. It is a great way to learn. It helps in understanding people from cultures other than our own. It teaches us how to express ourselves more effectively. It develops our ability to communicate our thoughts and feelings to others. Theatre education is vital for all rounded youth development. In a world addicted to technology, theatre provides an outlet for making creative choices, thinking new ideas and interpreting the material in expressive ways that are the essence of drama.Performing for an audience teaches students to trust their ideas and abilities. This confidence will apply in every aspect of their future.Acting roles from different situations and cultures promote compassion and tolerance for others. Drama enhances verbal and nonverbal expression of ideas. It improves voice projection articulation fluency

of language and persuasive speech. Also, theatre brings play, humor and

laughter to learning, thus improving motivation and reducing stress.Social interaction and risk taking in drama develop trust in self and Others while rehearsing and performing the words, movements strengthen the memory.

We are living in a technology rich world. There is considerable anecdotal evidence that students respond well in subjects involving programming of robots. There are several competitors for a range of age groups that channel competitive instincts in a positive way. Asking children to build a proper robot from a Lego kit and then running the robots in a race is exhilarating for children. So, the most engaging way of introducing IT in the curriculum is robotics. Robotics is a fun stepping stone for getting a child interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) - subjects that can lead to interesting careers later in life.Robotics enables practical learning and enhances engagement. Children love to participate in construction activities. As the learning abilities of these children increases with age, they are gradually guided to achieve enhanced skill in the subject. Most importantly robotics teaches the children the art of adaptation. Teachers ask students to design a robot using only a few parts in the kit. This helps them to plan differently and still come with the great results; in other words they will learn to adapt, an important life skill.

The enhancement of physical and mental development of children is certainly the most important contribution of sports. By playing sports children develop physical skills, exercise, make new friends, learn about a fair play, learn to be a team member, learn to be a leader, and improve upon their self-esteem.These are the prime positive qualities we want to imbibe in our children.Teamwork and benefits of social interaction among children are best seen through sports. Also, if teamwork is learnt at an early age it will surely help the students in the long run. Children learn to respect authority, rules, teams and opponents. Also it is a very helpful way of reducing stress, as well as fighting against juvenile delinquency and aggressive outbursts. Through sports children learn to deal with difficult people, teaching them patience- a quality which students need to learn. Taekwondo, golf, lawn tennis, cricket and skating are the outdoor sports activities which students learn in the school during school hours..

Learning comes alive in a school garden. We believe gardening is a necessity as it enriches our curriculum, teaches children life skills, and contributes to their emotional and physical health.Gardening at school allows our pupils the freedom to care for a living thing and to take pride in it.It makes them all the more responsible and also makes sure that our children grow up healthy and make a positive contribution to a society, their neighbourhood to the nation as a whole. Gardening helps in increased awareness of a child’s role and responsibility.Watching how plants grow, getting their hands dirty is fun and they enjoy learning together.Gardening in school brings many benefits so every child should get the chance to enjoy it even if it means a few dirt   footprints on the teachers floor. Also gardening helps to achieve objectives and support the mental, emotional, and social development of the young. It teaches good nutrition, exercise, patience, responsibility, a positive ethic, andincreases student's self-esteem.

The future of mother earth lies in the hands of every human being so it’s not too early to teach kids about the goodness of recycling. Paper makes up most of the waste that is generated by schools. Rather than just letting it ending up in the landfills, our school encourages to promote paper recycling as one of our prime co-curricular activity that helps to conserve the environment. It also teaches the students the importance of environmentally responsible behaviour and have fun along the way. Our youngsters are our future and there is no better way to ensure a greener future than by educating them at an early age about ways to reduce the human impact on the environment.

Cooking with children promotes in them a lifetime skill of healthy atingat a young age. A kitchen is a learning place for children that can involve all of their senses, while kneading, tossing, pouring, smelling, cutting and feeling foods. Through cooking they feel a sense of accomplishment, self-confidence and a feeling of contributing to their families.Nutritional knowledge is incomplete without experiential learning. It helps to teach them nutrition education as they can plan their meals and make smarter food choices. They also learn mathswhile cooking when they are cutting the whole recipe into half or just measuring out cups of flour it’s a great way to give children a jump start on maths skills.

Web designing is one of the academic activities that allow students to flex their creative muscles. At ATS Valley School, students learn to hone their skills and explore new design techniques in web designing. It instills in young designers a great sense of confidence and widens their knowledge.Students learn the skill of researching, organizing and compiling their knowledge and use it wisely. It also assimilateshow web designing programs typically work. Our school wants its students to understand that web designing has become an important part of people’s everyday lives. It is difficult to visualize the internet without animated graphics, different styles of typography, background and music.. Therefore our school has decided to imbibe this skill in students by making it a part of their curriculum.
